Photo Blogging, My Starting Point
Blog. That kind of word I thought about three years ago, now become one of my routine activity. Not because the blog has raised some money as commonly discussed over online forums, but more to actualizing what I feel and what I want to share to the world. It’s more like diary for me, but hopefully it’s not likely to “cat blogs” which once stated by Seth Godin.
I have a cellular phone with a simple VGA digital camera attached to it. I used to take pictures from my surroundings which I considered quite interesting to capture. There are hundreds of photos stored in my computer within a year and I realized that no one have ever seen them except myself. I want to share them with other people, but previously had no idea where to start. Those photos are nice, but not quite fit the minimum quality requirements for the local photography mags.
The idea of blog caught my interest as it can be used effectively to disperse the information worldwide. I can upload any media that I have, including pictures and send them to million of viewers simultaneously. Fortunately, the costs of building a blog are less than five bucks because there are many blog services that offer free registration. I choose wordpress since they have simple and user friendly interface. For photo storage, Flickr is the most preferable service.
Since then, I started to upload those pictures to Flickr and view it on my wordpress account. I can share a picture and give some paragraph to told the story about it. Someday, I dream to develop it into a photography blog. Just like the PhotographyBlogger site that serves the essentials of photo blogging. They seemed to have broad information about how to reproduce photos which deserves their right to be shown over the internet. And such thing is I want to have the most.
