Me and My Cellphone

The first time I had my cellphone, it never thought of me to fill it with many stuffs and contents. The only thing I know about is make a call or send a short message, and I thought it’s barely enough to fulfil my communication needs. At least my family, friends, and co-workers could have easily call me whenever there was something necessary to be informed.

Eight months later, Bill gave a brand new Nokia 5300 for my birthday present. He said I better pass my old cellphone to someone else because it’s old fashioned already. Actually, there was nothing wrong my old phone. I have nothing to show off about the phone since I only need that for communication purpose. But, then I recognized that my brother needed a phone, so I just passed it to him.

Different cellphone meant different usability I guess. The new Nokia 5300 delivered me with more services that I barely impossible to have on the old one. It supported the built-in camera plus the large photo storage, so I could take any picture at any time as I want. The cellphone rings also totally different with my old one which I could play any mp3 files as the ringtone.

At that time, I realized that a cellphone not only serves as a communication device anymore. It has transformed into the people’s lifestyle. People can easily put any contents to their cellphones as well as wallpapers and cellphone music to personalize it with them self. And me has started to become one of them.

Ipod

The twentieth century happens to be a time wherein everything that’s big, or is supposed to be big, comes in a small package. With the technology that we have today, it is of no surprise that almost any technological gadget is getting smaller. Take for example the Ipod. A lot of people would say that the generation of today is dominated by it, hence coined ‘the Ipod generation”. There were three very distinct stages of this gadget. First is the Ipod shuffle. Designed to store and play around 240 songs, it was the ultimate replacement of the now defunct Walkman.

There were three features that made it very appealing to the masses. One is its small size allowing the user ease in carrying it around and can even fit into the jean pocket without the disconcerting bulge. Next is the case which comes in four different colors. This feature makes it look very cute. Third feature is its storage of 240 songs, meaning you can listen to your favorite music without having to carry any CDs or cassettes nonstop. Next in the evolution is the Ipod Nano. This comes in a very sleek silver and black design that is almost pencil thin and flat. It has around 1-2 Gigabytes of storage and can even store Word and Picture files. The latest is the Apple Ipod Touch. It has a memory ranging from 8-32 Gigabyte and allows you to store even videos and movies. One good thing, it’s all about touchscreen.
