I still can’t believe that a great friend of mine ended up in hospital from a heart attack! Apparently he is very lucky to survive, particularly after suffering the attack in a high rise football stadium. It turned out he needed a triple bypass operation and his condition was brought on by the unhealthy lifestyle he was living. I’m not surprised really as he spent all day watching TV and playing video games while stuffing his face with pizzas and soda pops!
You could see he was putting weight on, which was obviously affecting his cholesterol levels as well. I did try to stop him playing a game of football that day, but he didn’t listen to me. It was later on that he had his attack and when his face turned very pale I knew there was a serious problem.
On the way to hospital, the paramedics used equipment like a Sprint Fidelis Defibrillator Leads to try and revive him and keep his heart beating. These tools respond to the hearts rhythm, and if it appears to be abnormal then an electronic shock is administered to get the heart beating properly again.
But today I got news from the internet about Medtronic Defibrillator Recall because it was linked to 5 patient deaths also the Defective Defibrillator Leads can fracture and may have been contributing factor in the death.
Thank God my friend is OK!

Of all the things in this world that the Romans are very famous for, it is their architecture. Aside from basing on the Greeks’ ornate style and design of infrastructure, the Romans also brought a lot of fresh ideas to making buildings. Of all the ‘fresh’ ideas, there are three most important contributions that is still being used and can be seen even today are: the arch, the baked brick, and the use of cement and concrete. The Roman arch, which symbolizes triumph and tops the Roman buildings, has met many variations in accordance to time. Originally, the Roman arch is characterized by a strong, solid, rounded arch that forms a semicircle. For many, they consider the Roman arch as a basic of the Roman architecture.
Next is the baked brick. Usually made of clay or mud that is very sticky, Romans form it into huge blocks and have it baked in a very hot furnace to make it really hard and hold its form. These baked bricks are often used as additional support to a building’s structure, or as added design to the entire building and give it ‘character’. Today, this is done still in the same way but at a smaller size of blocks. The last of the three is the concrete and cement. Considered as way ahead of its times, these two are very useful in making the walls and the floors of the infrastructures. Also, it is used to pave the road and streets even nowadays.

Automotives have gone a long way. Since its invention in the 1700s, cars have evolved into engineering feats that no one in their time would have ever thought of. An automotive refers also to automobile. The words were soon diluted and soon evolved, too that they are now known as cars.
It is almost virtually unknown who invented the first automotive that ran by itself without the intervention of human power like pedaling or pushing. Some people say it was Henry Ford, some say it was Nicolas-Joseph Cugnot. What really matters now is the big impact an automotives has brought in the industrialization of the world. This made traveling easier, faster, and much more comfortable than getting into a carriage or a horse.
The expansion of the automotive industry was brought forth in 1902 and was then later expanded in 1914 by Henry Ford. Cars were massively manufactured to meet the demands of people all around the world. This kicked off the economy of the United States and served as a call for other people to start up their own businesses that have something to do with cars. This includes electrical ignitions, hoods, car seats, paints, everything.
Now, the automotive industry has boomed so much that millions of cars have been manufactured and cars they have become a necessity. Everyone dreams of having a car someday—either out of necessity or vanity or for the sheer pleasure of it. Cars can even cost millions of dollars. But whether the automotive is cheap or not, it serves only one purpose: to take you farther.

The twentieth century happens to be a time wherein everything that’s big, or is supposed to be big, comes in a small package. With the technology that we have today, it is of no surprise that almost any technological gadget is getting smaller. Take for example the Ipod. A lot of people would say that the generation of today is dominated by it, hence coined ‘the Ipod generation”. There were three very distinct stages of this gadget. First is the Ipod shuffle. Designed to store and play around 240 songs, it was the ultimate replacement of the now defunct Walkman.
There were three features that made it very appealing to the masses. One is its small size allowing the user ease in carrying it around and can even fit into the jean pocket without the disconcerting bulge. Next is the case which comes in four different colors. This feature makes it look very cute. Third feature is its storage of 240 songs, meaning you can listen to your favorite music without having to carry any CDs or cassettes nonstop. Next in the evolution is the Ipod Nano. This comes in a very sleek silver and black design that is almost pencil thin and flat. It has around 1-2 Gigabytes of storage and can even store Word and Picture files. The latest is the Apple Ipod Touch. It has a memory ranging from 8-32 Gigabyte and allows you to store even videos and movies. One good thing, it’s all about touchscreen.
